The Faith Association for the Rehabilitation of Street Children and Orphans (FARSO) creates safe, healthy environments for orphans, needy children, youth, and women - without discrimination.
FARSO is committed to rehabilitating orphans, needy children, youth, women, and all marginalized persons in environments that are conducive, safe, and healthy.
Providing safe shelter, education, and emotional support to street children and orphans, helping them reintegrate into society with dignity and hope.
Equipping women with vocational skills, entrepreneurship training, and resources for self-actualization and economic sufficiency.
Leading climate change initiatives, biodiversity conservation, water management, and desertification mitigation across Ghana.
FARSO was established through the instrumentality of a professional social worker and a nurse residing in Maryland, Baltimore, USA. The founders were deeply moved by the plight of children who are orphans, underprivileged and marginalized in society, as well as women living in poverty-stricken conditions in deprived rural communities.
The organization was registered as a civil society non-profit voluntary charity on January 31st, 2001, with the Department of Companies Registrar. It is also registered as a charity organization with the Department of Social Welfare and Manpower Development and recognized by the Tema Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region.
FARSO has the mandate to support urban and rural communities towards their social and economic upliftment. We offer assistance to the deprived, elderly, and women for their self-actualization and economic sufficiency.
To rehabilitate orphans, needy children, youth, women and other sections of persons in an environment conducive, safe, and healthy above all standards without discrimination.
